Overview

Lifestyle Block Experts is a directory for lifestyle-block and rural-residential property owners in Nelson–Tasman, New Zealand. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

• Enquiries: When you send an enquiry to a business, we store your name, email, phone (if provided), property location, service needed, and message. This is shared with the business you contacted.
• Listing submissions: When you submit a business, we store the details you provide, including contact information and service areas.
• Listing claims: When you claim a listing, we store your name, work email, phone, role, and verification notes.
• Technical data: We store a privacy-conscious hash of your IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We do not store your raw IP address.
• Featured Listing analytics: We record profile visits and activations of website and phone links for Featured Listings. Rapid duplicates and obvious automated traffic are filtered where possible.

How we use information

• To deliver enquiries to the businesses you contact.
• To review and publish listing submissions and claims.
• To prevent spam and abuse through rate limiting.
• To provide Featured Listing owners with aggregated listing activity, without exposing visitor identities.
• To maintain the directory and improve the service.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your information.
• We do not share enquiry details beyond the business you contacted.
• We do not publish your enquiry details publicly.
• We do not provide contractors with raw IP addresses, browsing histories, or visitor identities through analytics.
• We do not use fake reviews or fabricated business information.

Payment data

Featured Listing payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Stripe handles all payment information securely. We store subscription status and a link to your Stripe customer record.

Your rights

You may request access to or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. We will respond in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
